Notebook Entries

Notebook entries can take on a variety of subjects that we will try and break down into several different types. While there are a number of different topics mentioned below, it is not necessary to fully separate entries into these areas. These areas are what have worked for our organization to keep track of topics that are top of mind to be included in the notebook. There are likely other areas of concentration that we have not included that may be relevant in your notebooking journey.

  • Time Management

    • Gantt Chart

    • Timelines

    • Calendars

  • Resource Management

    • Materials

    • Costs

  • EDP Entries

    • Research

    • Brainstorming / Evaluation

      • Decision Matrix

      • Pro/Con

    • Build / Program

      • Build Process / CAD / Diagrams / Drawing / Sketches

      • Program Pseudo Code / Actual Code / Maps~Path

  • Test

Additionally, some of these topics may be combined into single entries. For instance time management topics may be part of a team meeting entry where tasks are assigned or timelines are discussed. Build/Program entries may include some testing as the development of the solution comes together and is tried before putting together a finished product. If certain key areas are combined it may be good to highlight or annotate those within a selected entry.
