Resource Management

There are a couple areas that come to mind for resource management, mainly materials and cost.

Materials

Within materials there are a few things that might be considered to be covered.

  • Parts

  • Tools

  • Other Supplies

A good way to introduce parts management is to either have a write up with limitations around what parts are available and how to be creative with what is available or to leverage a parts list alongside a build step, diagram, or CAD image.

Regarding Tool and Other Supplies, it may be worthwhile to mention these as resource that may be needed for build or competition usage.

Costs

Under cost it can be good to keep track of what is spent on the above items. In addition things that could also be considered are items such as registration and tournament fees, as well as travel cost.

Some may choose to do an initial assessment of what it would cost to build an entire project. Then throughout the season may do a cost analysis of each subsystem based on a parts list for what is being put together.
